With schools either closed or about to be closed around Australia, the Alannah & Madeline Foundation’s eSmart team has created two virtual packages to help with remote delivery to students, staff and parents.
The eSmart suite of programs, which include eSmart Schools, Digital Licence, Connect workshops and Dolly’s Dream DigiPledge, use a cultural behaviour-change approach to improve cyber safety, increase digital literacy and reduce on and offline bullying.
eSmart is now in one-third of Australian schools and more than 80 per cent of public libraries around the country and helps to build supportive and connected school social environments.
The Foundation’s Head of Program Delivery, Jacqui Kinder, said these virtual packages are designed to ensure learning continues, regarding digital safety and keeping your students safe online.
“If you are a registered eSmart School this package will also contribute to your eSmart progress,” Jacqui says.
“In this time of uncertainty, it is vital to protect our children by empowering them to make informed decisions when online."
Designed for schools the virtual classroom delivery package includes:
Existing Connect customers can switch their sessions to virtual at the same date and time or can be reschedule for later in the year.
If you're an existing eSmart customer one-on-one online support and training sessions, network discussions and professional learning modules can all be provided.
The DigiPledge program is designed to encourage family discussions about online behaviours and how to stay safe online. The new virtual program includes:
