As Patron of the Alannah & Madeline Foundation, I’m thrilled that the PM’s XI will support and promote such a worthy cause.

Alannah & Madeline Foundation CEO Lesley Podesta said that she and Foundation Patron Walter Mikac were looking forward to connecting with the Foundation’s supporters in Canberra at the event.

“We have had fantastic support from the people of the ACT over the past 20 years,” said Ms Podesta.

The Western Australia and Perth Scorchers captain Adam Voges will captain the Prime Minister’s team. “I’m delighted that Adam will be available to captain the PM’s XI,” said the Prime Minister. “This is my second PM’s XI and I’m looking forward to a fierce contest against Sri Lanka.”

The day’s cricket will start at 2.30pm with a curtain-raiser between the 16th ranked Papua New Guinea team and an ACT XI.

The match continues Cricket Australia’s support of emerging nations and will further strengthen the relationship between Australia and Papua New Guinea.

The Prime Minister said: “The double header with Papua New Guinea adds an exciting new dimension to the traditional fixture.”
