New! Alannah & Madeline Foundation Connect

in News

Due to the popularity of the Alannah & Madeline Foundation’s workshops at schools and libraries around Australia, we are proud to present a new and extensive range of workshops – Alannah & Madeline Foundation Connect – in the areas of cyber safety and bullying.

Aimed at primary and secondary students, parents, school staff, businesses and the broader community, you can build your own workshops that are tailor-made specifically to your organisation, or choose from set 60 minute sessions.
Workshop modules, developed and delivered by the Foundation’s team of experts, not only cover cyber safety and bullying, but also look at social and emotional learning, valuing difference, building resilience as well as respectful relationships.

Topics include:

Cyber safety

  • The 3 Cs of cyber safety (an overview of 13 key actions to stay safe online)
  • Module focus areas include: digital reputation, cyber bullying, privacy, connecting and communicating, inappropriate content, screen time and spending online
  • Trends in the online world of young people

  • The impacts of bullying on children and young people
  • Everyone has a role to play: pre, inter and post prevention strategies
  • Social and emotional learning, valuing difference, building resilience and respectful relationships
  • Latest research and findings from the National Centre Against Bullying

Connect takes many elements of The Foundation’s eSmart programs, accredited by the Office of the Children's eSafety Commissioner, and utilises the expertise within the Foundation in relation to cyber safety, bullying and the impact of violence on children and young people.

To celebrate Safer Internet Day on the 7th of February, the Foundation is offering an introductory 10% discount to any school or library that makes a booking for a cyber safety workshop expiring Sunday, February 19th, 2017. Bookings are to be made by phone at 1300 592 151.
