Media release - Friday 3 June, 2016

Dentsu Aegis agencies Dentsu Mitchell and The Story Lab will today tour Melbourne schools, libraries and the Broadmeadows Children’s Court as part of its ongoing relationship with the Alannah & Madeline Foundation.

The initiative One Day for Change will involve 30 Dentsu Aegis staff volunteering a day to give back to the community by meeting with schools and libraries presently participating in the Foundation’s eSmart framework and the Cubby House program, located at the Broadmeadows Children’s Court.

Staff will speak with children, teachers, libraries and court staff about their jobs, issues they face and the impact of their programs.

They will also develop images, videos and case studies from their experiences, which the Foundation will be able to use to communicate the need and impact of its programs.

Alannah & Madeline Foundation CEO Lesley Podesta said it was wonderful to have a strong working relationship with an organisation such as Dentsu Aegis, which genuinely cared about the work done across the Foundation’s suite of programs and initiatives.

Ms Podesta also thanked the schools, libraries and Children’s Court of Victoria for allowing Dentsu Aegis staff to visit and collect information.

“We are very lucky to work with some wonderful organisations that really help us get our message across,” Ms Podesta said.

“Friday is the perfect example of the Alannah & Madeline Foundation bringing people from very different parts of the community together to discuss and work on important issues.”

Dentsu Aegis Network ANZ CEO Simon Ryan said the organisation was focused on its commitment to give back to the communities that we operate in.

“One Day for Change is how we demonstrate that commitment and is a great opportunity for our staff to work together to make a significant difference in the community,” Mr Ryan said.
