Connecting an eSmart Community

A Community of Practice can be defined as “a group of professionals informally bound to one another through exposure to a common class of problems, common pursuit of solutions, and thereby themselves embodying a store of knowledge”. (Stewart 2001 in Botha et al 2008)

The Alannah & Madeline Foundation recently announced the launch of eSmart Community, an exclusive, professional online network for staff of eSmart Membership schools.

Now, more than ever, the benefits of belonging to professional communities are being realised. They provide opportunities to connect with others with common interests and are embarking on similar journeys to help reduce bullying and cyber bullying.

Responding to emerging situations and the needs of schools relies on online collaboration and sharing, and during challenging times in particular, communities become a valued source of information, guidance and support.

Joining our eSmart Community is free for all staff at eSmart Membership schools.
This platform allows Membership schools to:

  • share ideas, experiences, challenges and solutions
  • participate in discussions and feel connected
  • maintain an ongoing focus on eSmart
  • access new content and resources.
