Caring Communities

The Alannah and Madeline Foundation partnered with the ChillOut Festival and the Hepburn Shire Council Healthy Communities Project in support of creating safe and caring communities where bullying is reduced.

The partnership was launched in July 2007 in Daylesford with representatives from the Hepburn Shire Council, Department of Education, Victoria Police, local businesses, primary and secondary schools.

The Communities Caring for Children Campaign involved the local business community in a fundraising appeal to implement The Better Buddies Framework into regional primary schools across the Hepburn Shire.

The fundraising initiative raised over $22,000, which has seen The Better Buddies Framework implemented into 10 primary schools. We hope to use this great fundraising initiative as model to role out into other regional communities across Australia.
