The International Patron of The Alannah and Madeline Foundation, HRH Crown Princess of Denmark and HRH Crown Prince of Denmark, today joined the Foundation's National Patron, the Hon. Julia Gillard MP, Prime Minister of Australia, the Hon. The Honda Foundation and Yarra Honda have made a generous $10,000 donation to The Alannah and Madeline Foundation, to assist with the production of the 'Bullying Hurts' brochure.
Designed to tackle bullying in schools and community groups, the brochure provides advice to both parents and children on how best to respond to bullying, and where to seek further advice. The donated funds will help translate this well distributed brochure into a number of languages, making it available to the wider community.

Children365 is an initiative of The Alannah and Madeline Foundation that encourages Australians to celebrate children every day of the year. The concept for Children365 was developed after the tragic death of Darcey Freeman in January 2009. Following her death, it was the wish of Darcey's family for there to be some positive action out of such a terrible tragedy. In 2007 Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess of Denmark's foundation the Mary Foundation introduced 'Free of Bullying' to Denmark in cooperation with Save the Children. The program was developed with inspiration from The Alannah and Madeline Foundation's 'Better Buddies' program. On 23 March, 'Free of Bullying' celebrated that the preventative anti-bullying program is now being used in 1,000 preschools throughout the country.

Target shoppers across Australia have helped raise $1 million dollars for The Alannah and Madeline Foundation's Buddy Bags Program, with all profits from the sale of Target's red reusable bags donated to the Foundation. One million dollars will deliver more than 8000 Buddy Bags nationally.
