The International Patron of The Alannah and Madeline Foundation, HRH Crown Princess of Denmark and HRH Crown Prince of Denmark, today joined the Foundation's National Patron, the Hon. Julia Gillard MP, Prime Minister of Australia, the Hon. Ted Baillieu MP, Premier of Victoria, and the Foundation's Chairman John Bertrand and CEO Dr Judith Slocombe, to discuss the exciting next phase of eSmart.

The official party are also joined by host Lisa Wilkinson, Dr Michael Carr-Gregg and key business leaders and philanthropists at the Hume Global Learning Centre in Broadmeadows, to participate in a working luncheon and consider how to take eSmart beyond the school yard, and into libraries and community hubs.

Key business leaders and philanthropists from around the country will attend the eSmart Luncheon with The Crown Prince Couple at a private luncheon to discuss cybersafety affecting young people in Australia.

The luncheon will highlight the issue of cyberbullying and bullying, showcase how the Foundation's eSmart system is helping thousands of young people across Australia to be smart, safe and responsible online.

St Charles Borromeo Primary School becomes first eSmart school

The Alannah and Madeline Foundation, a national charity protecting children from violence, is pleased to announce St Charles Borromeo Primary School as the first school to become eSmart in Australia.

Since participating in the eSmart cybersafety initiative's national pilot program in 2010, St Charles Borromeo has been an enthusiastic adopter of eSmart.

eSmart was specifically designed to guide and support the implementation of an effective system in schools to deal with bullying, cyberbullying and cybersafety.

The Alannah and Madeline Foundation, a national charity protecting children from violence, have announced their International Patron, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, and HRH Crown Prince Frederik, are confirmed to attend an eSmart luncheon in Melbourne on 26 November, 2011.

Key business leaders and philanthropists from around the country will join the royal couple for this significant event to discuss cybersafety and young people in Australia. The luncheon will highlight the issue of cyberbullying and bullying, showcase how the Foundation's eSmart system is helping Australian schools to manage cybersafety, and introduce eSmart's exciting next phase.

Volunteers pack the 20,000th Buddy Bag for children in emergency accommodation

The Alannah and Madeline Foundation has packed its 20,000th Buddy Bag, containing essential items for children in refuges and emergency accommodation. More than 400 volunteers have provided the manpower to pack the Buddy Bags for the Foundation since the program began in September 2007. Buddy Bags are provided at no cost to more than 200 foster care agencies and domestic violence refuges throughout Australia, thanks to the generous support of the community, volunteers and corporate partners, including NAB and Target.

1,000 Preschools in Denmark are 'free of bullying'

In 2007 Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess of Denmark's foundation the Mary Foundation introduced 'Free of Bullying' to Denmark in cooperation with Save the Children. The program was developed with inspiration from The Alannah and Madeline Foundation's 'Better Buddies' program. On the 23 March, 'Free of Bullying' celebrated that the preventative anti-bullying program is now being used in 1,000 preschools throughout the country.
