Message of support from Giaan Rooney

'More than 40,000 Australian children every year are affected in some way by violence. This is not a statistic for a third world country or even a nation struggling with conflict. This is Australia, one of the leaders of the Western World. This is the statistic that made me sit up and take notice of what is actually going on in our backyards, to our children. It is also the statistic that prompted me to become involved in the wonderful charity that is The Alannah and Madeline Foundation, who have changed the lives of thousands of children and continue to do whatever they can to break the cycle of violence and create a world where every child can feel safe.'
