On the first day of Children365 each year, adults will be encouraged to make promises and declarations about their children for the year ahead.

3 reasons I love my children

1. They all put a smile on my face.

2. Spending time with them makes me feel like a kid again.

3. Being active is a big part of our lives and I love it when we all do an activity together.

6 ways they make me smile

1. I'm lucky and my kids are all pretty affectionate, but one of their hugs always puts a smile on my face.

2. Watching them play sport makes me feel like proud Dad. Whether it's at school, with family or against their friends.

3. When they smile! If they're happy, I'm happy.

4. Seeing them achieve something they're really proud of. It may be winning a part in the school play or a basketball game, watching them achieve their goals is so rewarding for kids and parents.

5. When we go out and they use their manners and show respect for other people.

6. The look on their faces when the run out of the lounge after Santa has been - it's priceless!

5 things we will do together this year

1. We are planning a 6 week family bus trip up through Central Australia next year, which is our big adventure we're all excited about.

2. Obviously we go to most of the North Melbourne footy games and have that's always a fun day out - especially if they come away with a win.

3. We try to get out and go to a few concerts together. Which is fun in the warmer weather.

4. Our regular weekend activities such as family fitness days which aren't as strenuous as it sounds. We run around the park with the footy and and ride our bikes together.

5. Visiting (and being spoilt by) their grandparents.
