As Patron of the Alannah and Madeline Foundation it is my absolute pleasure to send wishes of support for the Taking Care of Little Things Public Appeal.

Although the Alannah and Madeline Foundation was established out of tragic circumstances, it has since grown into an organisation that plays a pivotal role in the lives of many Australian children. The organisation works tirelessly to support the lives of children who are the victims of violent crime or sudden family loss.

The positive response to the work of The Alannah and Madeline Foundation indicates the success of their initiatives which have included not only support for children who are recent victims of violent crime, but also the implementation of community education programmes on vulnerable children and teaching children to care for one another. A campaign like Taking Care of Little Things is a wonderful way to ensure that the vital work oft he Foundation is brought to the attention of the Australian community.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Foundation for their dedication and hard work. It is crucial that we protect the interests of the Australian children and ensure that as a community we put a priority on addressing the needs of vulnerable children.
